Nori in ChatGPT, Claude and Codex
You can connect your Nori account to ChatGPT, Claude or Codex and ask about your stock from there, for example "What's low today?" or "What should I order from my produce supplier?". The answers come from your Nori data, for the organisation and venues you choose.
How to connect
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, find Nori among the apps and choose Connect.
- Nori's sign-in page opens. Sign in the way you always do: email and password, Google or Apple.
- On Nori's permission page, pick the organisation and the venues ChatGPT may see, choose whether it may make changes, and press Allow.
Claude
-
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, find Nori and choose Connect. You can also
add a custom connector with this address:
https://getnori.app/mcp - Sign in to Nori and press Allow on the permission page, as above.
This works in Claude on the web, on the desktop and in the phone app.
Codex
-
In Codex (the command line or the editor extension), add Nori as an MCP server with
the same address, for example
codex mcp add nori --url https://getnori.app/mcp. -
Codex opens Nori in your browser (or run
codex mcp login nori). Sign in and press Allow on the permission page, as above.
You need a Nori account with an organisation; if you have none yet, Nori helps you create one first.
What it can do
- Show stock levels, low and out-of-stock items, what to order from each supplier, recent deliveries, waste, count progress and open flags, for the venues you picked.
- Log waste, flag an item as running low or out, and add a new item (managers and owners only). The AI app asks you before each change. Changes show in Activity as "via ChatGPT", "via Claude" or "via Codex", and you can correct them in Nori.
- Only what your role in Nori already shows you. Staff never see costs or values.
If you tick Read only when connecting, the AI app can look but not change anything.
What it can't do
- Delete anything, finish or edit counts, or send orders to suppliers.
- See or change your team, billing or settings, or see email addresses.
- See organisations or venues you did not pick.
AI answers can be wrong. The numbers in Nori are the ones to rely on, and each answer can link to the right screen in Nori.
How to disconnect
In Nori on the web, go to Settings → Connected apps and choose Disconnect. The AI app stops seeing your Nori data straight away. You can also remove Nori in ChatGPT, Claude or Codex. Deleting your Nori account or resetting your password also disconnects every AI app.
Your data
Nori sends the AI app only the data needed to answer you. What ChatGPT, Claude or Codex does with it is covered by OpenAI's or Anthropic's own privacy policy. Nori keeps a record of each request (which app, which action, when), not what you asked. Read more in our privacy policy.
